The world is facing a challenging time. We all are told to stay at home, to work from home. But there are those who cannot. And because they are working, they help to keep us safe and help to look after the community we live in. Yoma Group Would like to express our gratitude towards these Unsung heroes of Myanmar.
တစ်ကမ္ဘာလုံး စိန်ခေါ်မှုတွေကို ရင်ဆိုင်နေရချိန်မှာ ကျွန်တော်တို့တွေ အိမ်မှာဘဲနေပြီး အလုပ်လုပ်နေကြပါတယ်။ ဒါပေမဲ့ တချို့တွေအတွက်တော့ ဒီလိုမဟုတ်ပါဘူး။ သူတို့တွေအပြင်မှာ အလုပ်ထွက်လုပ်ပြီး ကျွန်တော်တို့တွေနဲ့ လူ့အဖွဲ့အစည်းကို ဘေးကင်းအောင် ကာကွယ်စောင့်ရှောက်နေကြပါတယ်။ ကိုယ်ကျိုးစွန့် အနစ်နာခံနေကြတဲ့ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံရဲ့ သူရဲကောင်းတွေကို ရိုးမအုပ်စုမှ ကျေးဇူးတင်ရှိပါတယ်။
The government has implemented Stay at Home rules for the Thingyan period (Yangon 10-19April; Mandalay 7-19April). There will be restricted movement in each township to avoid the spread of covid-19.
The Group will therefore be implementing Level 2 BCP plans accordingly by the end of next week. Each entity will set their timeline for restricting business services and shutting of offices as appropriate.
The city lockdown is a preventive measure to limit the risk of covid spread. This is different from many countries in Europe and the US who are forced to implement rules as a last resort. We have time to put in place our plans in an orderly manner.
A few thoughts:
1) Preparing your homes – prepare food, medical supply and essential goods. You will be allowed to get food during the lockdown, but it is important to plan ahead. Consider the chance that lock down may be extended beyond 19April
2) Covid-19 staff loan – consider using the loan for emergency purposes only. Yoma Bank will continue to offer this for the next months until the covid-19 situation ends. Therefore, you can wait to apply when you need it for emergency.
3) Campus Zay – Campus will be open during next week. If we run out on items you need, we will order for replenishment.
4) Masks – we have also added stock of masks in Campus Zay, and can source more. Please consider wearing masks particularly if you are in crowded areas
Good hygiene and social distancing are now very important. During Thingyan, please pass these advices, and also guideline on how to self-isolate in the event of illness, to your friends and family. Be extra careful and protect your community and loved ones in this critical times.

Covid-19 (၂၀၂၀ ခုနှစ်၊ ဧပြီလ ၄ ရက်နေ့ ထုတ်ပြန်ချက်)
နိုင်ငံတော် အစိုးရမှ သင်္ကြန်ကာလ (ရန်ကုန် – ဧပြီလ ၁၀ မှ ၁၉ ရက်၊ မန္တလေး – ဧပြီလ ၇ မှ ၁၉ ) အထိကို နေအိမ်တွင်သာနေရမည့် စည်းကမ်းကို ညွှန်ကြားထုတ်ပြန်ထားပါသည်။ Covid-19 ကူးစက်ပျံ့နှံ့မှုကို ထိန်းချုပ်နိုင်ရန် မြို့နယ်များတွင် သွားလာမှုများကို ကန့်သတ်ထားမည်ဖြစ်သည်။
ထို့ကြောင့် လုပ်ငန်းစုအနေနှင့် အဆင့် (၂) အစီအစဉ်များကို နောက်အပတ်မှစ၍ စတင်လုပ်ဆောင်သွားပါမည်။ လုပ်ငန်းဌာန တစ်ခုချင်းစီမှ လုပ်ငန်းဝန်ဆောင်မှု ကန့်သတ်ခြင်းများနှင့် ရုံးပတ်ခြင်းများကို လိုအပ်သလို အချိန်နှင့်တပြေးညီ ဆောင်ရွက်သွားမည်ဖြစ်သည်။
မြို့ကို ပိတ်ချပြီး အသွားအလာ ကန့်သတ်လိုက်ခြင်းသည် Covid-19 ကူးစက်မှုကို ကာကွယ်ထိန်းချုပ်ရန်ဖြစ်သည်။ ယခုကဲ့သို့ ပြုလုပ်ခြင်းသည် ဥရောပနှင့် အမေရိကန်နိုင်ငံတွင် အခြေအနေဆိုးလာမှ စည်းကမ်းများကို လိုက်နာရန် အတင်းအကြပ်ပြုလုပ်သည့် အခြေအနေနှင့် မတူပါ။ ကျွန်တော်တို့တွင် လိုအပ်သည်များကို စနစ်တကျ စီမံရန် အချိန်ရပါသေးသည်။
၁) မိမိအိမ်တွင် ပြင်ဆင်ရန် – အစားအစာများ၊ လိုအပ်သည့် လူသုံးကုန်ပစ္စည်းနှင့် ဆေးဝါးများကို ကြိုတင်ပြင်ဆင်ထားပါ။ မြို့ပိတ်ချချိန်တွင် အစားအစာများ ဝယ်ယူရရှိနိုင်သေးမည်ဖြစ်သော်လည်း ကြိုတင်ပြင်ဆင်ထားသင့်ပါသည်။ မြို့ပတ်ချမှုသည် ဧပြီလ ၁၉ ရက်နေ့နောက်ပိုင်းအထိ ဖြစ်လာနိုင်ဖွယ်ရှိသည်ဟု မှန်းဆထားပါ။
၂) အရေးပေါ်ချေးငွေ – အရေးပေါ်ချေးငွေကို အမှန်တကယ်လိုအပ်မှသာ လျှောက်ထားသင့်ပါသည်။ Covid-19 အခြေအနေ မပြီးဆုံးသေးသရွေ့ လာမည့်လများတွင်လည်း ရိုးမဘဏ်မှ ချေးငွေများ ထုတ်ချေးပေးသွားမည်ဖြစ်ပါသည်။ ထို့ကြောင့် လိုအပ်သည့်အချိန်တွင် ထုတ်ချေးနိုင်ပါသည်။
၃) Campus ဈေး – နောက်အပတ်မှာလည်း Campus ဈေးကို ဆက်လက်ဖွင့်လှစ်သွားပါမည်။ လိုအပ်သည့်ပစ္စည်းများ ရောင်းကုန်သွားပါက ကုန်ပစ္စည်းများ ထပ်မံဖြည့်ထားပါမည်။
၄) Masks – Campus ဈေးတွင် Masks များ စတော့ထပ်ဖြည့်ထားပြီး ထပ်မံလည်း မှာယူနိုင်ပါသည်။ ထို့ကြောင့် အပြင်ထွက်တိုင်း အထူးသဖြင့် လူထူထပ်သောနေရာများတွင် Mask ဝတ်ဆင်သင့်ပါသည်။
တစ်ကိုယ်ရည်သန့်ရှင်းရေးနှင့် အချင်းချင်း ခပ်ခွာခွာနေခြင်းသည် အထူးအရေးကြီးပါသည်။ သင်္ကြန်အချိန်ခါတွင် လိုက်နာရမည့် စည်းကမ်းများနှင့် နေမကောင်းဖြစ်ပါက မည်သို့ သီးသန့်နေထိုင်ရမည်ကို မိမိအသိမိတ်ဆွေများနှင့် မျှဝေလက်ဆင့်ကမ်းပေးကြပါ။ ယခုလို အရေးကြီးချိန်တွင် အထူးဂရုစိုက်နေထိုင်ပြီး မိမိချစ်ရသူများနှင့် လူ့ပတ်ဝန်ကျင်ကို ကာကွယ်နိုင်ကြပါစေ။

In short 5 days, we now have 8 confirmed cases in Myanmar. Communities are increasingly concerned, and plenty of rumors are going around of possible government lockdowns.
Actions so far
Let me summarize the steps the Group has taken so far
– Travel restrictions to avoid bringing back the virus
– Travel declaration to track domestic and international travels
– AskDR to answer medical questions- Business Continuity Plan in place for all entities
– Work from Home policy for all vulnerable staffs, and more teams are working from home on alternate shifts- Food and essential supply sold through Campus Zay, and will be extended to other locations
– Emergency staff loan to help cash flow – Contact tracing procedure for anyone who may have been in secondary contact with positive Covid-19 patients
Early Bonus
As we approach Thingyan, I’m pleased to announce that we will pay Thingyan bonuses EARLY on 31 March for those eligible. Some of you may be considering taking leave for Thingyan early. Please consult with your managers but we hope the early bonus payment can help your arrangement.
Contact Tracing
In some confirmed covid cases, we have staffs who discovered they had secondary contact with the positive covid-19 patient. The CCC team and I have thoroughly investigated each case to take appropriate action. Some staffs are now in government quarantine, while others are put into home isolation. In each case, we are lucky that any contact is limited.
Rumors may spread, many of them false or exaggerated – I want to assure you that your safety is our priority and we will continue to monitor any situation closely, and protect the work place aggressively.

Chairman Serge Pun and CEO Melvyn Pun hosted a virtual Yoma Group Town Hall on Thursday 26th March, 2020 on Workplace.
During the hour-long event, both shared their views on COVID-19, measures taken by the Group to ensure the health and safety of employees as well as answered a range of questions on salary and bonuses, the Covid-19 Relief Loan Scheme, as well as health related concerns.

Yoma Group is offering a Relief Loan Scheme to help our staff and their families manage their cash flow concerns during this difficult period as a result of COVID-19.
Who is eligible?
- All Yoma Group employees
How much can we borrow?
- Up to 3 (three) months of your gross salary..
What is the interest rate and fees?
- The interest rate is set at 8.5% per annum and calculated based on loan balance.
- There is no fees.
What is the repayment period and process?
- The agreed monthly repayment amount will be directly deducted from your Yoma Bank SMART account over 12 months.
How do I apply?
- Application form can be downloaded from Yoma Connect (//52.220.87.101) or available via your Entity HR starting 30th March 2020.
- Application starts on 1st April 2020.
- The application will be approved within 24 hours (1 working day)
